Dr. Kevin Cassin joined Lakeville Family Eye Care in 2020, bringing a strong background in medical optometry and a patient-first approach. He provides a full range of services, including:

Education & Clinical Training
A graduate of Eastview High School in Apple Valley, Dr. Cassin earned his B.A. in Biology, Society, and the Environment from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2014, graduating magna cum laude.
While in school, Dr. Cassin served as Class President and was recognized for both leadership and academic distinction. He was inducted into the Tomb & Key Optometric Honor Fraternity, the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, and the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He was also named Colleague of the Year by his peers.
After graduation, Dr. Cassin completed a residency in ocular disease at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. During that time, he gained extensive experience managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy — work that continues to shape his clinical focus today.
Clinical Philosophy
Before joining the Lakeville team, Dr. Cassin practiced in several private clinics, where he developed a strong reputation for medical optometry. While he enjoys all aspects of eye care, he has particular expertise in ocular disease management and advanced contact lens fittings. His approach is collaborative and education-focused: he works closely with patients to ensure they understand their condition and treatment options.

Personal Background
Dr. Cassin lives in Lakeville with his wife, Alyssa, and their two daughters. When he's not in the clinic, you can find him coaching youth sports, golfing, running, training for American Ninja Warrior–style obstacle courses, or spending time in the kitchen.
He is proud to serve patients at both Lakeville and Burnsville Family Eye Care and looks forward to building lasting connections through personalized care.
